Should I go with 295's on the front?
 

I currently have OE Wheels Z06 replicas, a 9.5" front and 10.5" rear. The only thing is that the rear has more deep dish because it's wider and the front really has no deep dish. I'm getting new Toyo R888's and I'm wondering if I could get 10.5" rims for the front to match the back and then run a 295/35/18 on the front with a 305/35/18 on the rear? Would that hurt my handling or should I just stick with the 9.5" rims? I just want a bigger lip in the front to match the back. Here's what mine looks like now.

It'll handle better with less understeer, but it might be more to deal with on roads as a daily driver.

You will probably need a small spacer in front though, because the offset of the replica wheels isn't ideal for an F-Body to begin with... they are Vette offsets.

i'm running 295x35x18 all the way around, 10.5" rims, no spacer needed at all. It's a very tight fit up front but the spacer was not needed. Had to shave the bumpstops on the back a little bit and hit a little spot on the rear on both side where the tire was rubbing under hard steering but besides that nothing else needed to be done.

The plus side to doing that is the ability to rotate tires.

Nice! The car will be driven more on the street, so I might just stick with the 275 but I don't know. I guess I have all winter to think about it! lol. Cuz I do plan on getting the BMR 1" lowering a arms, so that in conjunction with BMR springs already might cause issues.

go with the 295 all the way around man, you won't regret it, like stated above, rotating tires is a plus!

No I wouldn't do it way too much up front. If you want to be rotating tires get some 275s

I disagree. 275's are factory size, there are guys out there running 315s all around... 295s will be fine, and look great.

Can't believe people even put 315's up front that's ridiculous. I just like the rears to be wider than the fronts which is kind of the point when looking for an aggressive stance but that's just my opinion.

Some people like their cars to not handle like shit, which is what a staggered tire size will get you.

Yup guess that's why most high performance rwd cars have wider wheels and tires in the rear from the factory :confused:

And those high performance cars also have either even weight bias, or are more rear heavy, and also have independent suspension all around. The 4th gen has none of this. What works on some cars does not work on others. This holds to be very true with the 4th gen. Compared to say, a Corvette the setups for handling are vastly different because of a totally different chassis and suspension.
You want a square tire setup (all tires same size) on these cars for most neutral handling.

I also am thinking about putting 295's on all fours. I know there wouldn't be any issues with the rears, does anyone know off-hand if 295's will be a problem with rubbing on an 45et wheel up front?

Drive a properly set up 4th gen with a 275/315 tire set, then a 315/315 set up. You will understand. A 4th gen is nose heavy, they aren't like every rwd performance car.

Also, if you look at many corvettes that are road raced and autocrossed (especially the fast ones), you will see square tire sizes. Hmmm I think they are on to something. If you want staggered tire sizes for looks, that's understandable, but it does make your handling suffer.

295/35 on all 4 here, handles amazing, only downside is heavier feel of the steering at slow speeds.
