Default What tire for 17x7

Ordered my 17/15 combo Billet Specialties street lite black. I know what I want for rear. What tire brand for front in 225/50-17 that will complement the M/T DR. Thanks,

What do you want to spend?

I would think Cooper Zeons, Hankook Ventus, BFG g-Sports for less money or something like Continental DWs for more.

Goto Summit and type in 225/40-17 in the search to see all options or TireRack/Discount Tire. Then pick a nice Summer Ultra High Performance Tire or Ultra High Perf All Weather. That would complement the MTs well. Spending more to get Extreme Perf Summer or Max isn't buying you much, since the MTs won't be able to keep up with them in the corners.

Thanks Jake. I have done the search-by-size and found a few to consider (UHPS) as you mentioned. I was wondering if any 17x7 guys with first hand experience would chime in

You could also run a 215 size tire too.

Both of these would be a good size choice!

(1) 225/50/17, 25.86"

(2) 215/50/17, 25.46"

The 215/50/17 should be a few LBS lighter than the same tire in a 225/50/17, but the 225 will offer slightly more wheel lip protection.

Thanks guys...found a helluva deal on tirerack.com on the 225 Firestone Wide Oval 500. The anticipation is killing me on getting this set-up on the SOM Z
