Default Advice Staggered Wheels/Tires

Getting ready to purchase new wheels and tires just curious what I might need or run into when installing. Did a lot of reading into so I know it comes down to each car is different with BFH and rolling. Here's the combo I'm thinking of getting.

C5 Deep Dishes Black with Machined Lip

Staggered 18x9.5 54mm offset/18x10.5 56mm offset
or 18x9.5 54mm offset all around

BFG T/A KDW 2s Front 275/35/18 Rear 295/35/18

I've read and seen pics that the 295s fit a 9.5 rim and they look good but is there any cause for concern? Should I stick with 9.5s all the way round and stagger tires or go with 10.5s and have ability to go with bigger tires if I want in the future? I guess that might come down to preference but would like some opinions.

This will be my 1st step with changing appearance so would like to start off on the right foot.

Any experiences, advice would be appreciated? Thanks!

I have the staggered set up but in the machined face. I run 315/30/18 Toyo R888s in the rear and my fronts are the same as you have listed just different tires. The front I had no issues fitting at all. I do think they sit a little far inside the fender though so I plan on getting spacers for the front but that's me.

Had to BFH the inner fender well to make them fit but now I have a 1/2" adapter and they fit perfect. Just need to roll my fenders now.

Personally I like the staggered set up but when it comes down to that, that's your choice.

I like the staggered look too just would like to stay away from any hammer bashing. That's why I'm considering 18x9.5 all the way round with 275s front and 295s rear. Seeing that people do put those tires on that wheel even though it's not within the recommended measure size. Would like the 295s on 10.5 to play it safe and get the proper contact patch, it would just kill me to bash away but hey might have to either way. Haha

It was definitely hard for me to hit my car with a hammer but it was worth it. C'mon steam rollers are sexy

I'm switching to C6 ZR1s from C4 ZR1s in 18x9.5 all the way around. I will be using 245/40/18 and 295/35/18 BFG GForce Rivals 1/2" of stretch for the 295s to fit on 9.5" is safe, its actually a faster running tire when its slightly stretched.

I'm running a staggered height and width. Actually the same exact wheels with 295s in the rear. My tires setup from rear to front is 295/35/18 and 275/40/17. Ill probably be going with the same in the rear then 275/35/17 up front since I'm lowering the car this spring and don't want it to look like ****.

Edit: also had to do a little BFHing on the rears.

why not stick with 18x9.5's on all 4 running a 275/35/18 tire? you can rotate them, the cost is less than a staggered setup, and still get great performance.

Just curious how they run faster? I'm leaning towards not doing 295s on 9.5s, just for my tendencies to do things right. It not being manufacturer recommended kinda throws me off.
I've seen some pics of them looking damn good on other wheels just don't know about the ones I want.

Any spacer needed? Ive also read about stud/spacer kits being safer? Any input on that? Adj Panhard? Anything else that I might need before delving into this?

I'm not too concerned about that. I only put less than 10k on my SS a year. That's not a lot to me I guess. It is in the back of my mind though, I wouldn't be considering 9.5s in the rear when it comes down to rotating options.

No spacers needed. 295/35/18 fits an 18x10.5 wheel like a glove. I did have to BFH though like I said quite a bit. I'm hoping they will still fit without spacers when I lower it with strano springs, Koni shocks, and an adjustable panhard bar.

Very nice! I'm also thinking of lowering mine in the future, mine rides nice at stock height considering the rough roads here. So this is another big decision.

how much work you gotta do to fit 10.5s up front? Would you go with 285s up there or 295s?

18x10.5 with 295s on every corner IMO would look dumb and pointless. Go with staggered width if you want all 18s

yea it was a thought. Most likely going for 18s 9.5 and 10.5 with 275 and 295 seems like the setup I keep coming back to.

Damn just read 5x120 bolt pattern works on Fbody so that opens up my wheel range some more.

Yea I figured it would. I read a lot about it and after seeing what most people ran with that combo seemed pretty popular.
With the tire size I def wanted a little bigger in the back and keep a bigger sidewall as well. So that combo was perfect.
Can't wait to get these bad boys! Gonna do some more searching for wheels but the C5 DDs are my fall back.
Thanks guys
