Default Good size tires?

Hey guys, I currently have 270 40 17s on my formula. I was going to go a little bit more narrow in the front possibly. What tire size do you all run?

Out of curiosity, why do you want to go narrower?

Just on the front, I feel like maybe a little less friction at the strip will help. I could be wrong however

If you want less friction, buy the front skinny wheels and be done with it, or go with drag radials. You aren't going to save much time in the quarter by switching out front tires on an otherwise stock vehicle.

Ok, well another reason may be cost as well. haha Track opens saturday and my front tires are pretty crappy. Idk if they would pass spec or not. So I'd like to get a set of cheapish tires by then. I know the smaller the cheaper usually

I agree.

If you have a 17x9 or 17x9.5 front wheel, then the skinniest tire you could really use would be a 245/45/17, which isn't going to make any measureable difference in 1/4 mile ET over the 275/40. And, IMO, the 245s look silly on 9" or 9.5" wheels (too streched).

i have a set of continental extreme contact dw tires in 265/40/17 that i am selling if you are interested. They are only about 23lbs per tire so they are pretty light. still about 80 to 85% tread left.

Depending on rim width you can do 245/45 or 255/45 .
