new to us wheels
However, I get a little nervous with those light wheels and no tread as we do drive the car too. In fact, we're getting ready to take a long road trip with the local Corvette club to Arkansas to visit a national forest and spend all weekend driving. So ... we picked up some Z06 wheels and painted them graphite using DupliColor wheel paint and mounted some inexpensive Kuhmo tires. I wasn't sure about the look of the shorter tires but they're growing on me.
We took advantage of a beautiful cooler day yesterday here in East Texas and went for a Sunday drive through the country. Car rode nicely, everything seemed to be ok.

The paint is pretty nice to use. As with any painting the prep is the key. We washed them very well, let them completely dry, and then sanded every surface, nook and cranny. I used a self-filling primer and with the primer and paint applied several thin coats. The paint "dusted" in some area which I believe is from me holding the can too far from the surface and since it was hot and dry out the metal flake dried before it hit the wheel. If I was doing it again I would have tried to do it earlier in the morning when it was cool and hold the can closer.
Overall, for what we have in them, we're happy with the look. It rides nicely and now allows us to take long road trips and drive in the rain which we couldn't do before. I prefer the look of the Bogarts and drag radials but for what we have invested I like them. They'll do for the time being ... college is crazy expensive but we're so blessed that she is going and doing well.
