i have about 1-1 1/2 in. on the inside of the wheel well. oh and going from a 305/35/18 to a 285/35/18 wont affect ride height the middle number is the sidewall height. as far as traction before if i launched at 2k rpm i'd spin like mad now i can launch at 4k on a clod tire with full psi and kinda spin them. these should cure my 2.3 60' after they heat up with less psi

You have that 100% INCORRECT . .

a 305/35 is TALLER than a 285/35 . .

The "middle" number is the "percentage" of the tread with that equals side wall height, so.

35% of 305mm = 106.75mm or 4.2", 2 sidewalls plus rim diameter = 26.4"
35% of 285mm = 99.75mm or 3.9", 2 sidewalls plus rim diameter = 25.8"

really i never heard of that. my buddy has a 295/ 35/17 and his tires look just as tall as mine.

Well believe it or not, your tire is taller . . . . . and I assume you mean 295/35ZR18?

i'm not doubting you man i'm just saying i never heard of that and no i ment 17 i dont mean the whole physical tire basicly the height of the sidewall

He is %100 correct......... if youve never heard of it before i guess you dont deal with car stuff very often do you....????? The middle number is called the aspect ratio..... the percent of the tread width that is the sidwall height.

I really like the wheels, but the backspacing on the rear looks off to me. I don't think they should hang out that far.

I don't think anyone out there makes a 295/35/17...
