Default Rim specs question

Will this rim...

17x9"
6" rear backspacing
5" x 4.5" bolt circle

Fit my '01 Z28? I have no idea when it comes to the specs of rims, so sorry for what is probably an easy question. They are Cragar S/S forged alloys, if anybody was wondering. I think they would look great on the NBM

The next smallest rim is...

17x8"
4.5" rear backspacing
5" x 5" bolt circle

But I read that I would need at least an 8.5" rim to hold a 275 tire

Would this fit better? Better question, am I better off with the 17x9" so the tire will fit properly?

The rim in question..

Thanks in advance

Bolt circle for F-body is 5 on 4.75".

Check out the American Racing Torque Thrust II's or the Boyd's Smoothies - they're very similar in design and available in the correct sizes.

6" is the wrong backspacing for our cars. 7" is about right. Ideally, you want to keep back spacing in the 6.75~7.25 range and offset in the 38~50 range for a 17x9 or 17x9.5 rim.

Arighty, how about 15 inch? I see people with 15" TT2's on, but the rear spacing I see is pretty low. These 15x8" (5x4.75" bolt circle) TT2's have a 3.75" rear spacing on them

The 17x9.5" ones have the 7" rear spacing, but I wasn't wanting to spend 280 bucks for each of these back rims. Or will I have to?

Please read this thread - https://ls1tech.com/forums/wheels-tires/120716-wheels-tires-everything-you-should-need-know-here-must-read.html - it will help you decide which size range you need. Then you can look for the best price. American Racing wheels are generally pretty inexpensive. Take a look at our sponsors or contact your local Discount Tire to see what they can do for you pricewise.

Oh, and if I were you, I'd stick with 17" or larger sizes unless you're looking for drag wheels or something.

Well I was wanting this to be a full street car, but I knew that 15" rims would allow me to hook harder at the track than 17" rims would

Right now I have Nitto Drags, 245s on a 16" rim. These things can't keep me straight And they are too skinny Would 275 BFGs on 17" rims be much of an improvment?Either that, or the new Mickey Thompson Drag Radials @ 295 on 17"? I don't need to pull the front tires up just yet, but I need something that will hook good. Either that or for the track switch tires out *shrug* Too many choices!
