I have 20mm hubcentric spacers on my rear wheels and they are 18×10.5 with a 56mm offset. Im also running 305/35/18 toyo r888's and they sit pretty much flush with the fender

I had to cut my studs down a lil...had to cut like 3 threads off. Using the lugnuts that came with the wheels

use an adapter not a spacer, adapter will be a one piece design with lugs (I've used motorsport-tech without any issues and they can anodize them). Put the wheels at a 40mm offset and they will be perfect without sticking outside of the fender.

I bought mine off eBay for 39.99. I had to use 1.5 inch adapters due to the offset. What is the offset on yours? Mine are +65mm c5 vette wheels and sit flush with the 1.5 or 38mm. I didn't cut the stock studs..

Few things...

A. If you're using ebay $39.99 adapter style spacers... you're putting a lot of trust in generic bargain priced aluminum and generice to hold your wheels on. Buy H&R's or Eibach's

Get those name brands. Ebay, who knows the quality. Adapter style spacers are taking your stud from holding your wheel on with the steel axle to hold your wheel on with aluminum an aluminum spacer and god know what studs. Better be quality

B. If you do buy those $39.99 adapter style spacers, you can press out the generic studs and just use the spacer portion with ARP studs on your car. Simple process.

For stud/spacer reference I use:
-20mm (.78") hub centric spacers
-2.5" 12x1.5 .509 knurl ARP wheels studs
-1.38" 12x1.5 Rocket Racing lug nuts

This setup get you the the stock engagement for the lugs to thread onto studs

I looked around before I bought mine and the eibach adapters are made out of aluminum as well. Do they make real steel ones? All I could find online and at summit were all aluminum..I did use loctite on the adapter to the hub lugs tho lol...

now you got me worried. I agree with the quality of aluminum argument but what if I just bought new quality studs to put on the adapters. Seems safer than having the wheels bolted to the very end of a 2.5 inch stud like you have..not trying to argue just trying to figure out what's best...how long have you been running yours like that?

No matter what fastener you have with an ebay adpater... it's still being held to the vehicle with god knows what aluminum and it's quality of manufacturing

I'll trust my wheels being held on with ARP steel studs to my steel axle, with proper thread engagement.

so you pressed the studs from the adapter and used 2.5 inch arp studs in place of stock studs on the axle? What brand of adapter did you get?

Use the ball joint tool to press out studs, I used the puller to pop the rear rotors off (didn't want to hammer them)

Use the Lisle stud tool to install the studs

You'll need more stud than that

For stud/spacer reference I use:
-20mm (.78") hub centric spacers
-2.5" 12x1.5 .509 knurl ARP wheels studs
-1.38" 12x1.5 Rocket Racing lug nuts

This setup is perfect for thread engagement

OEM stud 1.63" (41.5mm)
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/r...t/model/camaro

ARP 2.5"(63.5mm)
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/a...7708/overview/

63.5-41.5 = 2mm more thread engagement than stock with 20mm spacer and 2.5" ARP studs...

So if you're using a 1.5" spacer you'll need 41.5+38.1= 79.6mm which is 3.13"... so it's splitting hairs, but you'd be at less thread engagement more than stock.

I ran the $39.99 eBay adapter spacers for about a year which included trips to the drag strip and on the interstate etc... and had no problems at all , I can’t remember what brand they was.. but 98-02 fbody is 70.3 or 70.5 center bore I can’t remember now which it is . I ran 1.5” so I didn’t have to cut down the studs in the rear and the wheels stuck out about 1/4 in. To far ,you could do 1.25 and just cut down the non treaded part of the stud . The wheels were oem c5 18x9.5 with bfg 295 Tire
