Default Narrow differential or order rims first?

Looking at 11 or 12” rims (19”) for the back of a 01 ws6. I’m in love with the rims I want, which would stick out an inch at the max offset without narrowing the diff.

Offset options range between -6 and +55. I’ve already BFG wheel well and rolled fenders.

do I:
1. have the rear (moser 9”) narrowed 2” (max) then measure for offset

or

2. buy the rims with the least offset then determine how much to narrow (after varifying how much rear can actually be narrowed)?

thanks

Do you know what wheels you are considering buying? Ill be honest if you get a 9 inch and want to go 11 or over rims you will need to do a mini tub. Yes, most people will chime in and say they can fit 12 inch wheels without a mini tub (as I have) but for spirited driving it wont work unless you go past the fenders. IF you are going with a 9in rear you can call most of the people that manufacturer them I.e. hawks, Midwest, etc. And they can give you a better idea on the clearance.

That being said, if you are really set on the wheels, buy them and then get the rear to work, but if you aren’t I’d go with a narrowed 9 1.5 inches and fit my fikse with 3 in lips. ...just my two cents..

thanks Cancam. I have the moser 9” already and want the f14 in super deep concave for the back. I do intend to do a lot of spirited driving, so you gave me some thoughts to consider.
