Wheel set up good or bad Quick question. I recently bought some 15x10 race stars and decided to order a 275/60/15 Nitto NT555R drag radial tire to mount on them. Should of probably ask before buying them but is a 28” tire a negative for my set up. Got a 99 trans am with a BTR stage 2 cam worked 243 heads 1 7/8” long tube headers 450 walbro pump melling oil pump and a 3800 circle d converter on 3.23 gears. At the time i wasnt thinking of how it can affect the cars performance only the stance

How sticky is your local track? Based on your likely power output and listed stall speed, the effective gear ratio reduction could help with traction during max effort launches if your track is known for poor prep or this setup is specifically for street action. My concern is more regarding tire width - why such a narrow tire for a 10" wide wheel? Or, rather, why select such a wide wheel if you only want to mount a 275mm tire? With a 60 series sidewall on a 15" diameter wheel, you could stuff a 275 on an 8" wide wheel (I've seen folks do this even on a 7" wide wheel, but I wouldn't personally recommend it). 10" width seems like overkill for a 275 tire even if it was a lower profile, but especially on a 60/15 setup.
