New lugnuts outside diameter too small ?

New lugnuts outside diameter too small ? I just installed a fab 9" from midwest chassis. I was going to run the stock ss wheels for awhile. I guess the studs on the strange axles are 1/2 x 20. So I went and bought some and they just seem super skinny. It's like the almost go all the way through the rim. They are tapered on the end like the stock one's. They do draw the wheel up, but..... Anyone have experience with this ? Just want to know if they are safe or if I need to get some different ones. All of the parts stores in my area carry the same ones, so if anyone has a lugnut recommendation? Thanks.
+1. Call Midwest and tell them about your problem. They offer standard or metric studs as an option on the rear ends. Maybe you can switch the studs out for metric? I would not install metric wheels on standard studs without their blessing.

I think it's just the outside diameter of the lugnut. It's not as "meaty" as the original acorn lugnuts. Thanks for the input guys. I did call them and they told me the size is 1/2 × 20. So I don't think that's metric. Correct me if I'm wrong. It just needs more material. I'm gonna find a lugnut website and see if I can find some with more girth on the outside.

My bad. You meant my original wheels are metric. I see what your saying. Matt at MWC was aware of the wheels I was using. Hopefully he didn't "forget" to mention that my wheels won't work on these studs.

It's important to make sure the lugnuts are matched to the wheel, so maybe your best call is to the wheel manufacturer to confirm you have the correct lugnuts? I think 60 degrees is a common taper, but there could be other specificaftions you may need to contend with.
