Question ?? About Tire Sizes

I had a question about tire size for stock ZR-1 rims? Are there any other size tires that would fit the 17x9.5 rims besides the 275/40ZR17's? Was wondering because I am having trouble finding tires in my area. Also kinda wanted a better gripping tire to get more traction out if the hole. Thanks to all who reply.

I have 285/40/17 on the rears and 275/40/17 on fronts. They are firestone firehawks and they fit great and are awesome wet and dry traction. But my car is stock so I dont know how they would edo with more hp.

The 275/40/17 will fit great on 17x9.5 wheels even the 285/40/17 will fit. I have 17x9, 10 spoke ss wheels and the 285/40 on the rear and 275/40 on front and they fit great. Hope this helps.

Why would you ever want a taller tire . . . . ?

A taller sidewall gives a little more than a short side wall and is better for drag racing. Think of the big wrinkle wall slicks on top fuel cars. Short sidewalls are great for road racing.

so long as all 4 tires are the same diameter you will not mess up or ABS or TCS. Granted your speedo will be off until you recalibrate the computer.
