clearcoating polished wheels?

clearcoating polished wheels? there is a local powdercoating place that i called that said they will clearcoat my polished torq thrust 2's for me so i dont have to deal with the pain in the *** process that cleaning polished wheels involves. are there any pros/cons to doing this, they said they will do it for 50 bucks a wheel and that doesnt seem to bad of a price. anyone that can chime in??? thanks

I've thought about doing the same thing. The clear will dull the polished look a bit. Maybe have them do one and let you see it before having them all done. Also, ask if the powder coat is guaranteed not to yellow after a lot of sun exposure. Otherwise, I'd say go for it. Post some pics too if you have it done!

BTW, the Eastwood Co. sells clearcoat kits for polished wheels. You might look into doing it yourself. Probably only cost you $50 in materials total.
