Did I Get Hosed?
When I complained about the spots he said they would just buff out with some Flitz so I told him I would be willing to try it but I did not think polish would work. I ordered some Flitz with a polish bob ($30 of my money) and tried it but it did not do a thing to the spots - in fact it looks worse now because the wheels are so clean.
Now he is saying that I am being "****" and that I should have expected the wheels to look like this because of the price. They were $600 including tires with about 25% life left (4/32 left of which only 2/32 is useable). I thought the rash was why the price was reasonable and why they would be at BEST a 7-8 condition.
I do not believe that he disclosed the real condition of the wheels and I have asked for him to pay for return shipping and refund my money or to give me $125 to cover the reduced value of the wheels and my time & materials for actually trying to fix them with sanding and polishing (if it is even possible). I was not expecting perfect wheels and could live with some spots but two of the wheels are literally COVERED with these spots and they look too bad to put on my car.
What do you guys think? Should I have expected the wheels to look like this or does he need to make this transaction right?

I guess I will just have to report "ohhiitznik" as a bad seller and live with what I got.

Steve I sold my chrome ZR1s about six months ago for $450 and they were in damn near perfect condition. Granted there were some really really fine scratches in the chrome, but were talking about being 3-6" from the rim to see them. I even made certain the guy looked at every single rim before he bought them for the exact reason you are on here posting. I didn't want him to have buyers remorse later on that the rims were not "perfect".
Good luck, but in all honesty, move on and learn a tough lesson from this.
