A adapter is if you need more than a inch or if you have a wheel with a diferent bolt pattern! it has holes to mount it to the car and then a extra set of studs to mount a rim on it! I is used all the time in the import and mini truck world, but I quess F-body guys just buy wheels that fit!

Awesome...

What about the Mr. Gasket wheel spacers? I was looking at getting the 5/16" ones, but not sure on the design or how they will get centered on the axle hub. Any thoughts?

yes they are safe b/c 1) they arn't very thick 2) they don't weigh much
But are not good b/cthey have no way of centering there weight!

look for ones that the holes are close to the stud or have a center hub, so they are centerd!

I figure you would have to keep it centered while tightening down the lugs.

It would be better to have lug pattern specific spacers. They will fit better, and you won't have to try to keep them centered as you're tightening the lugs.
