Default Nittos 555's

my firend has a vett with these. he says their very sticky but wear down easy, is this a good investment, and would it be ok to just keep the 275 going?

The 555 are a side walled more tread lines!
The 555RII is a drag radial with real thick side walls(handling tire)!
The 555R is a drag radial with no side wall (drag tire)!

That being said I have had all of them liked them all but like the drags in back RII up front!

I was looking up info on Nittos today and probably would have ordered some but DTD.com is not working for me.

I like The Rs out back and the RIIs up front as well. Sticky: yes. Wear quickly: yes. But, they really aren't too expensive either...

Assuming you've got the stock size wheels, I'd stick with 275s, yup...

i have just the stock 16's and when i got the car this summer i put 455s in front and the 555rs in back.....i pry drove it 5k miles this summer, with about 20 track passes(and a few more "street" passes), and they are still ok(not real sticky, but good enough for street driving).....the post above is right, they aren't that expensive, so i figured i'd just go through a set of the rear tires each summer, maybe even get an extra set of just drag tires for the strip......

yes they are cheap up wear isn't bad. Keep in mind watch your brunouts! A buddy of mine had a high 11 second car on the street ne did a very small burnout! A4 and had no traction problems! Nittos don't wear down like BFG and around here for the street Nitto is #1! Track bfg is a hair better! Bfg clams a softer compound!

I have this setup on 17x10 w/275RII and 17x11 W/315R! And I can say car handles with the best of them! Oh and with 600hp on turbos tire lives up to what I ask for!
