Time to replace the old tires... Greets all,
It is about time to get new tires, we so far have liked what the Camaro came with when we bought it. To tell you the truth I am damn suprised we still have the tires it came with on there with around 45,000 on the old odometer.
BTW the stock tires are the optional 275/40/17 BFGoodrich G-Force KDs...
With the taxes coming back it is time to replace them, and buy tires for the truck too...
I really want the Goodyear F1 GSD3 but looks like with the expense of two sets of tires we will probably go with the Sumitomo HTRZ II tires or something similar...
Anyone have any thoughts on the Sumitomo or a tires close to its price range? Right now they are $109 a tire on Tire Rack...

Get the Avon Tech M500s from Tirerack. That company has a LONG racing history in England. I bought them last year, and for $130 each, I don't think you will find a better tire. 
They are good in both dry and wet conditions. The treadwear is high, but don't think for one second that they don't grab.

I ran the Yokohama AVS ES100's on my old Mustang and I loved them. Ride quality was good, noise was almost not there, traction was great for what I paid for them, wet traction was no problem at all. I think they were about $120 in a 245/45/17. Don't know about the 275's.

I went with Nitto NT 555s on my 94 Trans Am and love them. For your car on www.tires.com they are $158 a peice. They have great wet traction. Tey hook like a mother when it is dry. Just thought I would chime in with this idea.
