ET Street Tire Problems

Last season I made about 6 passes on my 17' ET streets. Went to the track today and I couldn't get the tires to hook, hell they barely made any smoke during my burnout. I was pulling 1.7-1.8 60 foot compared to 1.5 last season. I drove to the track a few times(1 hr each way), can you mess up the tires so they do not hook?? If so can I fix it?? thanks

Do they have much rubber left? How cold is it compared to the last time, when you made those other passes? They might not be able to get as hot yet.

It was probably just poor track preparation,but soft compound tire do tend to get harder after a number of heat cycles.And how you store your tires over the winter can make a difference too.
