Tires for a 18x10.5 ??
Are 285/35/18 too small on a 18x10.5 rim..? Im deciding on 285 or 295. What is the safest recommended tire size on a 10.5? I wouldnt go with a 315 because im trying to lower the car later on and dont want to do any modifications on the wheel & tire because of rub issues. Anybody running 285 on a 18x10.5 zo6 rims?

My brother has 285/35/18s on his Z06 replicas with no problems or rub but he has stock springs. IMO though the rim sticks out a little too far past the tire and looks like it needs a larger tire. Id be scared of curbs with that setup. When I do my Z06 rims im getting 295s for the back. I think you will most likely need to do the BFH mod if you are lowered with a 10.5 rim no matter what tire you put on.

i have a 285 on my 18x10.5" Z06's right now, they fit great. but they seem the same width as my previous 295's. i went with a 285 this time b/c it is so hard to find 295/35/18's in a decent affordable tire. i got some pics on my webpage, not sure if i have any good rear shots on there. i am going to put up some new pics this weekend, so i'll make sure to get some good tire shots on there. i thought about going 315, but i dont like the look of a big bulging back tire hanging off the rim. i think a 295 would be fine, 285 in some brands. btw, my current are falken 451's, previous were dunlop SP9000

This is mine with 18x10.5 front and rear with 285/35/18 on the front and 295/35/18 on the rear. I think the 285's are fine. The tires are Toyo T1S. I wish i had one of the wheels closer up but this is the best one i have.

I have 295s on my real Z06s and they do rub occasionally even after pounding the fenderwell. It's not bad, only rubs on really steep, 90 degree turning driveways and other wierd angles. Hasn't been bad enough to even take off the lettering on the inside sidewall-- but I'm watching it.
