Weld vs Bogart
When comparing the Prostar, one needs to consider all components that are necessary to bolt them on to the car for a fair weight comparison. A typical weld prostar 15x10 w/spacer weighs ~15lbs, grinding is still necessary. A typical LS1 Bogart built 15x10 weighs 10.5 lbs, grinding is not necessary. I won’t include the weight differences in lugs between the two builds, but it would be ~.25 lbs lighter w/Bogart’s if you want to count it.
A Weld Prostar front runner w/spacer weighs ~11lbs, grinding is necessary. A typical LS1 Bogart build 15x4 weighs ~9.5 lbs, no grinding is necessary. Once again, lug weight differences are not being considered.
If a person states the above weights may not be accurate as they don’t use spacers for their weld setup, then by fair comparison, the Bogart rim would be built differently so that similar modifications would be necessary as the weld Prostar needed to fit….due to this change the Bogart rim would STILL be proportionally lighter.
Hope this helps,
Steve
