Question Any problems running 17" with 18"

I got my '02 T/A last week and the original wheels got to go. It is a red WS6 6-spped with the original wheels. I would like to have something bigger on the back because of the wheel wells and the width of the *** end. I scanned through the threads but found no comments, but alot of people run different sizes. I was just wondering if there are any issues with this kind of set-up?

I think eighther setup looks great, but as for your question there are no problems with the 17/18 combo, as long as you dont put 17's on one side and 18's on the other. Think of the corvette, chevy wouldn't put combos on it if it weren't perfectly fine.

Yes, but the Corvette, is DESIGNED to run smaller tires up front vrs out back, where the F-Car is designed to have the same overall diameter tire front and rear . . . .

If you run a Camaro with different diameter front and rear tires, ABS and traction control get confused and will not work properly, and I certainly would not want to find out the hard way . . . . .

yup, the ABS light could come on. Mine does when I use my Et Streets with Skinny fronts. Though you should be OK.

You only run into problems when the front and rear differ significantly in size. Case in point fats and skinnies. I along with numerous other F-body owners run 17x9.5/18x10.5 with 275/40/17 and 295/35/18 with no problems.

Very true, but now the side wall of the front tire is now a 1/2" taller than the rear tire. which looks odd IMHO . . .
