Default backspace for 15x10 and fitment question...

I was just wondering how 15x10's draglites would look with a 6.5" backspace.. would it look that much different than a 7.5" backspace? And would the 15x10's rub on my wheel well with 295/60/15 MT ET street radials? or should i go with 315 or stock 275 wide? Anybody tried this or can give me some information? thanks

I just put 15x10 draglights on my car. If you haven't narrowed your rear, you'll want 7.5" back spacing, I think 6.5 would stick out too much. I'm running a 5/16 spacer on the rear also, it saved some grinding plus I thought 7.5 was just alittle to much back spacing but I think 6.5" would not be nearly enough. I'm running a 26x11.5x15 tire which seems to fit good, I didn't cut any on the car. You'll want to keep an eye on the bump stops if you get too wide.

well maybe i'd be better off with some 15x8's with some 275 wide tires on them then.. i am going to have a ford 9" under there so i will just get 15x8's to keep it simple.. they should hook good anyways.. especially with a torque arm, suspension, and LCA's.. Thanks

If you get a 9" you could probably have it narrowed to fit any rim you want. 15x10's really aren't that much work, plus it gives you the option of running a wider tire if you ever want without buying another pair of rims. I'm not positive but I believe the guys running 15x8's are using a 5.5" backspacing on a rear with stock width. When I get my rear I'm going to have it narrowed 2" on each side and run a 15x10 with 5.5" backspacing, it'll locate the axle almost in the center of the rim and also have a bigger lip on the outside which I think looks good.

100% correct. if you go to my homepage you can see a couple pics of my vert with 15x8's on it with 5.5" b.s. perfect fit! likewise, a 15x 10 would need a 7.5" b.s. to position it the same in the wheel well. i'd wait and get the rims at the same time as the 9" and have it narrowed about 2" per side. that's what mine will be when i pick it up next weekend. then you can run a rim with a wider lip, which is much racier looking imo.

awesome! i'll find out if the rear end is already narrowed because the buy that had it before me had 15" rims on it.. so i'll have to see.. IT would be nice if it was already narrowed ! Thanks for your help guys! i appreciate it
