Need info kinda quick on temporary spare width
I thinking about using the rim from my temporary spare and mounting the skinniest {regular} tire I can find on it. I've found a Firestone Firehawk that in a 195/55/16, would the 195 be too wide? I have already trial fitted the rim and it doesn't quite clear now. I'm pretty sure I could use a small spacer or grind the caliper a smidge {or a combination of both} and it would be good to go. The minimum width called out for that 195 is 5 inches I believe.
Gotta figure something out by Saturday and any help would be appreciated.
Another option some people use for the fronts is wheels from the old VW Beetles.
(TireRack.com doesn't have anything in their size either, though.)
