What is the tallest, widest tire that I can get on a 17x8 inch wheel. I would like to fill up the wheel well as much as possible with the tire, but don't want any rubbing and want it to look good, not wierd. I know the standard would be like a 245 or 255 wide and 45 tall, but just thought I would see if anyone else has tried anything bigger. By the way I do have a programmer to reset my comuter for tire diamater, so that should'nt be an issue.

A 245/45ZR17 owuld mathc OEM diameter. A 255/45 should be ok although will be taller, so you'd need to reprogram the speedo. I would also recommend since all 4 wheels are the same size run 4 same sized tires as well.
