Switched tires... Eagle VR50 JUNK!
I had my Cooper Cobra GTZ's on since I bought the car and didn't think much of them. Mods are in sig so I am not pushing any crazy power. These tires were begining to look like a slick so I decided to not pass up a GREAT deal on some Goodyear Eagle VR50's. Well Afetr I put on the new tires I went out to the same spot I always rip on the car and what do ya know, these Goodyears made my car feel like I did a 5mph punch in water! These tires are the worst ever. I am hoping it is because I bought them used and they have at most 5k on them and they need to break in. Anyone have these tires? Let me know what you think of them.
If they are this bad, this is just motivation to get some Mickey T's

I had to check the date of this post The name Eagle VR50 reminds me of teh Gatorbacks on IROCs back in 86-90? Is that the tire that you are talking about? I didn't even think that they were sold anymore. They were a grea tire in its day, but about 20 years old in design.

Yup, I shopped w/ Tire Rack since 1989, when they were only found in a 4 page spread in Autoweek & Motor Trend.
The Gatorback was a bad *** tire in its day. I evolved from that to my next favorite, the GSC (and GSC-S : soft compound, shaved). I stood with those until they were discontinued and replaced with the GSD3.
When I first saw the GSD3, I thought it looked a bit Ricer, but the day (or two) after having them installed, some guy ran alight and almost hit me, but those tires grabbed the road and saved me
I'm a goodyear'er for life

Well I am glad I only bought these for daily driving and their mounted on junk rims. Eventually I will be going with some Centerlines and Nitto Dr's. These tires are just to put on my stock wheels. I could tell the design is about 20 years old due to the fact I spin till baout 70 MPH, LOL
