The profils weigh less than the classic and they look a little more rounded in certain areas of the wheel. Just slight differencing.

The difference is in the center section of the wheel. The centers on the classic series remain the same size as you increase wheel diameter. The difference is made up in the two outside sections. 17" FM5's have the same center piece as the 18" FM5's. When you step up to the profil series the centers change diameter as the overall wheel diameter increases. I used to have 19" FM5's and they looked a little funny as the center section was the same size as smaller diameter wheels. The difference was made up in the outside lip actually having more rise towards the center section. I am sure there are other differences, but generally this is how you can tell them apart. The classic series lip has a "step" in them as the profil remain flat. If you look at them side by side you will be able to see this.
