Default Custom offset ZR-1?

I'm wondering if I could make a custom offset by grinding down the inside of the wheel. I haven't really looked at it too much, but it seems possible. The only thing I could think of is the lug's wouldn't have enough bite on the wheel. Where the lug's go in there is about a 1/2" of extra material on the back part of the wheel. I know pics would help but I don't have any. I'm wondering if you could just machine this off to bring the wheel in a little more.

I guess it would be possible. Issues to keep in mind, is the surface must be completely flat and true to the wheel. Then the amount ground off, would have to be limited so that the lug cone has some thing to bite onto, and not "pop" through.

Honestly never heard of such a thing, but anything is possible.

It was just a thought since I have the 36.5mm offset. It might look a little better if I took 1/4" off both wheels. They aren'y sticking out right now, but that is with the skinny sumitumo 315's. I'm thinking about running the gs-d3's and I don't want them sticking out. I might take a closer look today to see if it's possible.
