Default Quick question on y2k's

I am a little confused on what the stock size tires are. I bought a pair of OEM Chrome y2k Vette rims. I keep reading on here that the stock size for the rear is 275/35/18 but every time I go on tire rack or discount tire it says 275/40/18 as the stock sizes. Was there any difference in sizes through the years?
Dumbass question...I know

So a 275/35/18 tire should fit without any problems then?

it will be a shorter tire and that isn't really a bad thing, helps with acceleration.
