Default A proposal to GM about the next generation Camaro...

What do you guys think about the idea of sending a petition to GM to have them consider changing the bolt pattern on the 5th Gen Camaro to 5X114.3? I dunno about you, but I'm pretty frustrated at the fact that when it comes to the availability of aftermarket wheels for our cars, we are SEVERELY limited in choices. It seems like it would be easier to get GM to change one small design aspect of one of it's cars than to convince an army of aftermarket wheel companies that they should all build wheels that fit our current bolt pattern.

What do you think about this?

naw.

There's plenty of wheels, you just have to look for them. All corvette wheels since the C4 fit our cars, there's plenty of wheel manufacterers that use it.

If anything they should make it 5x120 instead of 5x120.64. that would clear up a lot of speculation.

I agree that were not THAT limited to our wheel choices. Besides, it's just one of the many things that makes your car unique

I agree, i would and have proposed to bring the cars back from the dead but this isn't a big issue....there will always be a good looking set of wheels available for a popular car no matter what......just search some more.

I guess the point that needs to be brought into question is what different people's idea of limited is. As an example, what I consider limited is how you can go do a search on Ebay, and type in "5X114.3," and get this:

http://search.ebay.com/5X114-3_W0QQc...itleZ5X114Q2e3

Then, do the same but type in "5X120.65":

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...trypage=search

Okay, but then let's say you got frustrated at the search you just did and decided to just say **** it to the ".65" part of the bolt spacing, (who the hell needs that extra .65mm's anyway?), and type in "5X120" instead:

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...trypage=search

See what I mean? Like I said, I'm just using Ebay as an example.

I agree. One of my co-workers looked at me like I was retarded the other day when I told him my bolt pattern. His exact words were "Hell I can see 5x120, but 5x120.64 sounds like someone just fucked up"

here's what I would propose. Don't put snowflakes on it!!! The wheels MUST be 17x8s or 9s, minimum. They must be 5 or 10 spoke. if they are 5 spoke, they should have a flat face, and reletively thin. a cross betweent the zr-1 and C5 wheel comes to mind

the 10 spokes must look like Z06 wheels, or very similar. 16x8s should be outlawed.
