Default Traction w/Firehawk Wide Oval?

I'm having some traction issues, im ordering some suspension to plant the rear more but my tires arent doing very well, i can floor it at 40 and loose my back end and bang the limiter, a buddy of mine just had some firehawk wide ovals put on (i think thats what they are called) and i can get a deal on them too, how is traction w/these things? I did a search but didnt find too much, i'd appreciate any input, thanks

I've had them (275/40/17) for about 5 months, and they've been good. My car is a daily driver in Florida, so that should say a fair bit, though I'm not heavily modded. I was going to go with the GS-D3's, but I got these for about $300 less. They have good (at least for me) handling and traction in wet or dry conditions, though I imagine the Goodyears would have been somewhat better.

What would you rate their traction on dry, 1-10?

I can really only compare them to the stock GS-C's, but I'd say about 8-9. They are a good tire, and I'd certainly recommend them.

I just ordered them myself. If you check out this link, its a test done on the following tires

Tires tested:
AVON Tyres Tech M500 225/50R16
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 225/50R16
Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval w/UNI-T 225/50R16
Goodyear Eagle RS-A 205/50R17

Firestone is comparable to the KDW's slightly better according to them. The test is on a BMW and the size is smaller, but I'm sure it's the same for the larger tires.

The Firehawk is also a bit cheaper than the BFG's.

Here's the link
