Question TT2 Lip question

Can the lip on the tt2 wheel be swapped out for a wider one? I once saw what I could've sworn was a TT2 wheel on an classic chevy truck and the lip appeared to be at least 3" deep.

On my TTII's the front lip is ~3.5" and the rear is about ~4.25".

TT2's offset/inset are so dramatically different for old school applications, you usually get a deeper set and bigger lip. I've had 17x11's TT2s that didn't "look" as big as 17x8's on a 69 Camaro w/ the deep dish.

So, there is a TT2 made with a deeper dish lip than what we find on our 4th gens? Did you have 17x8 TT2's on the 69?

Thanks guys

Edit: I have 17x9.5's right now on my TA, I'm just wondering if there is another option for the TT2's that would provide me with a deeper lip.

I didn't personally, but spent all day Saturday w/ some guys at a cruise in that do. If you got that deep of a dish for yours it would stick out from under the car like a ricer.

Some of the old school'rs run17x9.5's w/ 275040-17 and they look HUGE!!!

The lip is totally a function of the offset. The offset is what makes the wheel fit correctly w/o sticking out. You can't have a deep lip and keep the fitment the same. You could on the rear I suppose, but you'd have to narrow the rear end housing.

Ok. I definitely don't want it sticking out but the idea of having to narrow the rear is not necessarily a bad thing.

thanks again.
