Default Q's about tires

Hey guys,
I just bought a set of 17" Chrome Z06's about a month ago and put them on my 99' Camaro Z/28. I just checked last night as to the difference in tread on the front vs. the rear, and the rear have substantially already lost wear. I do not really drive like a crazy nut, but I have done one LITTLE burnout. I put maybe 1000 miles on these tires, and they are already showing wear. How do you guys hold up with rear tires on your LS1 equipped vehicles. Also, when these tires do go, be it a week from now or a few years from now, what do you recommend buying for 17x9.5 rims. I am currently running Falken 255/40/ZR17's on all fours. Thanks for the help.

If you are running the same tires all around, rotate them. Also check your tire pressure and make sure they are the same all around which will help reduce wear. Any kind of burnout will wear out your tires. Get some DRs

If these are directional tires you can not do a normal rotation. Plus If the rears on not in good condition, I suggest not putting them on the front, I know I would not want bad tires on my car, when I am trying to steer thru ****

True, he never stated if they were directionals though and he's only put 1000 miles on the tires, shouldn't be that bad if he put them in the front. Now if they were bald or were on the wear indicators, that's a different story.

Come to think of it I believe they are a little overinflated, and they are directional tires. I can only rotate front to back (as all four tires are the same, but the directions on both sides are different. I think I am going to let some air out of them, as the middles are starting to wear. Thanks for the help guys.

Yeah you can only rotate front to back. When you put have air in the tires, always make sure its below the max pressure for the tire. So if it says 45 max put 35-40, don't put 45 because when the tire heats up, the pressure builds. Good luck.
