Default kdws tires

After 100 miles on new tranny I finally did my first lauch from a stop. I got new BFG-kdws so i thought I would get great traction and yes, I know its not a drag radial but I did expect better.

I thought the car would grab and it didn't but the burn out did feel a lot more better then the burn outs with Daytona tires. I know I got to learn to feather the gas pedal to get a good launch. But I will also be looking to upgrade the suspension.

With the Daytona you get kind of a scretch when doing a burn out and with the kdws you can hear the tire grabing the asphalt trying to get traction and it sounds really good compared to the Daytonas. I do feel a better traction on regular driving -if that makes sense. But I will say the all around the kdws tires is a lot better then the Daytonas when comparing to all around driving. Now to see how they handle in the rain.

UPDATE

It rained yesterday and today and these tires handle really good, better then my Daytonas in the rain -and when its not raining. Very satisfied with this tire choice.

I liked the set I had on my 2000 S10 Xtreme. Had some 245/50/16's. They handled great and were good in the wet. They have a fairly hard compound so they're not gonna give super grip like a KD would. Still a nice tire for the money. I don't think I'd run them in snow though, even though they're snow rated. I prefer true snow tires.

I have 245/50/16s on my stock 5-spokes and they have about 24k miles on them and still have some tread left. They don't hook worth a **** on the street now(they did before long tubes/tune but now, any hard 1-2 shift slides the assend like it's on snow and 3rd spins a little) and especially at the track(best 60ft. I have got is 2.15 and they have almost caused me to hit the wall because of breaking loose on a 1-2 shift while they were at 25psi on a good hooking track.

They were awesome tires but I now have to get wheels/tires before I do any more power mods or it'd be useless. Great all-season tire that have lasted for a while, though.

i hated them, had shitty traction and didn't last that long, plus i hated the tread pattern on them. i didn't know much about tires, so i left it up to the tire guy. i asked for great traction and good looking tread pattern, thats what i got...

The only thing I don't like about KDW's is the life I got out of them, or the lack of. Everything else is great.
