Default Need some quick info on sidewall stiffness

I need a new set of 275-40-17 tires. My main concern is comfort. I've got Falkens on there now. Seems to me they ride a little harsh (32 psi)

Anybody out there know a heirarchy of sidewall stifness?

Or maybe someone just knows of a particularly comfy tire?

Thanks!

wheel design... welcome to the tradeoffs.
as you might know, sidewalls are mainly constructed of steel sidewalls and nylon layers as well.
With heat, nylon and steel have different properties.
in terms of stiffness... there are some tires with 2 steel sidewalls.
if confort is what you are looking for, make sure you chose a tire that only has one.
confy in what sense... noise, soft in being able to absord road imperfections more ?

Yoko AVS ES100 is a very confortable tire, fwiw... and is not expensive.
has very decent grip/handling... but not the best in that area... but offers more confort.

general rule: moresidewall= better acceleration, ride and nose. less sidewall = more handling

The GSD3 has a pretty soft sidewall. Rides real well, gets great grip. The trade off is that they don't respond quickly to input. If you don't care about that, then they should be perfect.
