wheel spacer question.
wheel spacer question. have 10.5" z06 motorsports in the rear, and instead of beating the hell out of my car, i decided to go with the 1/4" spacer and they fit great. only problem is i've heard talk about it messing up the studs or something? is this true? has anyone on here had problems with spacers? i did a search couldn't find anything thanks in advance.

Spacers put extra stress on the studs, since they move the location of the wheel, on the stud, further out. This increases the leverage, and can produce enough extra force to break the stock studs. For safety reasons, aftermarket studs are preferred.
But, spacers are also bad for causing vibrations that feel like an unbalanced tire...if you don't have this issue, then great!
I'd get some new studs though, just to be safe...

I have some spacers on the back of my car from my C5 rims and haven't had any problems. I have driven the car many miles including a trip from Alabama to Maine and back. I also beat the hell out of my car with no problems...
