What do you drive? I would stick with the original overall size diameter. Bigger rims means you should get lower profile tires, etc.

JMO...........You can do whatever you like best

I would watch out with 19" rears. Not a lot of sidewall and I have heard people complain of the ride. Depends on what you like.

Also what performance are you looking for? Road racing / autocross or drag racing, or just every day driving? They each have tradeoff's and different setups would perform differently for each.

Lower profile's are better for autocross but will ride harshly. Taller tires are better for drag racing and a softer everyday ride.

Performance has more to do with the tires you select, than the wheel size. C6 Vettes come with 19s on the rear now, along with the new Z06. With a high performance (read: soft!) tire, they will still have good traction and handling.

Personally, I don't like the staggered look on f-bodies, since our wheel wells are the same size front and rear and require the same height tires. Staggering them tends to make the front tire look big due to the taller sidewall.

Best balance of looks and performance would be a set of 18s all the way around.

and slightly lowered.

However i like the look of 17's all the way around at stock height. makes it look complete. But then again i'm biased; i have 16x8s still.
