50mm or ????? for formula

i got the black zr1s 17x11 and 17x9.5and i got them from e bay they sent me 50mm for the rear is the mm i need or does it matter???

I saw a Formula that had a 50mm offset ZR1, they looked really good, filled out the car nicely. I'm not sure if he had to bang on anything to get them to fit though.
