How bad is it with heavy wheels and bigger? how much do you lose?

and is it better to have bigger wheels at higher speeds?

33lbs vs 20lbs / wheel, will it make any difference at the track?

Is there anything better with heavier wheels?

Good question, I know the stiffer sidewall will make traction worse at the track on bigger wheels and heavier you would probably loose a 1/10th, is only about 40 lbs more but rotating mass is worse.

I don't think you would ever want to add 13 pounds of unsprung weight per corner if you can avoid it. Even if you are not concerned about acceleration or handling, increasing weight by that much could possibly affect braking and wear on other suspension and steering components.

i´m asking this because i have the AR rebels and they are supposed to weigh 33lbs for the 18X10......i have the 18x9 in front. And then you have the tires to....they weigh to.

but our massive TQ help help alot, so you dont lose that much with heavier wheels like a 4 banger with no tq would?

There would be a difference but not much by my standards. If you are one of those people who will sacrifice anything for a tenth of second (including your car's looks) then you probably don't want to do it.

Bigger wheels at higher speeds? Once you have the momentum going I think the size of your wheels matter less and less. The biggest difference should be the initial inertia of rotating the heavier wheels. You will want wider wheels for the wider tires at higher speeds. That gives you more contact with the pavement which creates more friction, yielding more traction.
