Default 315 35 17

im going to be getting some new tires for my rear torque thrust 2's. I want 315 35 17. My question is are those sumitomo htrz tires on ebay any good? If not what would be the best tire for me? I dont want to spend a whole lot and i dont drive in the snow. I hear about the nittos but i hear they arent good in the rain and i will probably get cought in the rain at least once and i dont want any problems, but im mostly looking for traction, thanks!

the sumitomo's are great for tread life and rain, they are not too bad, but not the greatest performance tire out there. I know lots of people who run them because they are a great tire for the money. In terms of all out performance, they aren't amazing for traction but are good enough for fun around some turns.

If cost isn't the biggest factor I'd look at some bf kdw's or some pilot's

I got mine b/c they were cheap. They don't hook very well, but for the price they're hard to beat.

They are what i run cuz they are way cheaper and last. I just mount up my BFG Dr's if I wanna go play. Both sets together are cheaper than 1 set or BFG g-force KD's. Also lots of rain in FL so they are good for that.

ive hed em in the 315 size for about 5 months now. great tire for the price. one thing i am startign to notice though, they are startign to follow the groves in the roads quite bad... a wide tire is going to do that, but the more they wear, the worse its getting. i woudl still recomend them due to price/performance ratio is damn good in my book. good luck with your decision!

i have them. traction is not the greatest i suppose. they were cheap, 315's which i had to have, and i bought them out by my house. i will prob buy them again cause i like to spin them and why spend $300 for 1 if they are going to get melted????

I feel the same as most, bought them because they were a cheap 315x35x17. I paid 94 a tire for mine so that is what sold me. Plus, I went from a Nitto Drag to these, so I'm sick of not wanting to kill my nittos when playing around, plus, u almost can't, damn sticky nitto's.

Also, like was mentioned, they are not the best looking tire, but who cares.

I only got about 6K miles out of my HTR-Z's. The grip is OK at first, but as they wear down they get real hard and don't grip worth a damn. Braking gets bad too. In the rain they are death traps.

The Nitto 555R is superior in every way except the treadlife, that was about the same. Excellent rain grip as well. Once the tread goes away they are still great, you just have to go slow through standing water. I would recommend them.

okay cool thanks guys!! I dont drive my car very much (try to keep the mileage down) plus it is stored during the winter, so buy the time i hit 12000-15000 miles they will be old! So i will just go with a set of Nittos, decent price, good tire. Thanks again!!

You seem like the perfect candidate for the 555R in back and the 555RII up front. I had that combo and drove it every day, even in pouring down rain. I switched because I needed a tire that lasted longer. That's all.
