Default BFG KDW or Nitto 555

I'm looking to get some new tires and am trying to decide between these 2 tires or another tire in the similiar price race. What would everyone suggest? Tires will be used on a daily driver with a little street racing, and might see the track once or twice a year.

kdw all the way, they are a sweet tire. I have had both, and like the g-force. you may get more mileage out of the nittos, but the kdw perform better.

On regular 555s or 555Rs (the drag radials)? Big difference.

I had KDW's on my stock rims and loved them. Low road noise (compared to the stock RSA's and Kumho ECSTA 712's), good tread life, no traction problems at all.

My only complaint with them is they don't make KDW's in 315/35/17.

There is no way anyone is getting 1.6 60's out of street 555s unless they had them soaking in VHT for a year!! I barely believe 1.6s out of the 555R DRs with a stock suspension.

"anyone have experience with the regular 555"

Yes, they suck for traction.

Even worse is putting a sticky 555RII on the rear and regular 555 up front then go take some corners. Puuuuuuuuuushhhhhh........

I agree, the regular 555 is almost as bad as the stock goodyears as far as traction goes.

vht is what they put down on the dragstrip to get traction.

VHT is a traction enhancer they use at drag strips
