Default 275/40/18 VS 35series

Whats the difference between getting a 275/40/18 as opposed to the 275/35/18. I know the whole diameter will be slightly bigger but does it make a difference? What about rubbing? Will I experience rubbing?? Just wondering cuz I think the 40 series would be better so that I can have a little more side wall but just worried when making turns about rubbing.

275/35ZR18 is that same as OEM diameter so the speedo won't be off, less rubbing issues, looks better.

275/40ZR18 taller than stcok so speedo will be off. Depening on offset the tire may rub more during full lock turns, etc. Side wall IMHO is too tall, makes 18" wheels look smaller . .

I guess I'll be going with the 35 series. I have 53mm offsets on my z07 rims but just curious on the 40 series

I agree with Andy. Go with the P275/35R18. If you go with a P275/40R18 it will more than likely rub (as Andy said, depending on the offset of the wheel).

Andy, P275/40R18 look good on my ZL1 ! ! ! ! I don't think they make my wheels seem small.

Mine never rubbed with the 275 40 18, until I had a fat chick sitting in the back and took a hard turn..so I took the fat chick out and took out the back seats...problem solved

Dont have any issues w/ rubbing on my 275/40s even lock to lock.

And IMO it looks better than 35s at stock height. Just fits the wheel well better (least to my eyes).
