Tire size questions

Hey guys,

I just picked up a pair of 15x4 centerlines for my street/strip car (thirdgen). I will be driving this car to and from cruise-ins and the track. Tracks is only about 15 minutes away from me.

I have done a search and most people seem to be going with the P165r15 tire for the front. What is the overall diameter of this tire...I cant seem to find it anywhere...it appears to be about 25".

I would like to have a 26" tall tire for a little more stability and a better stance with the 275/60 bfg drag radials in the rear (28" diameter). Basically need a tire close to 26" and still fit a 4" rim. widest possible too.

Also thinking of another pair of 8 ply MT sportsman fronts.

so why shalt thou not run mickey thompson sportsman fronts? 26x7.5-15s theyd look like this on my 15x4s

The 165's are under 26" diameter, I don't remeber the exact measurement. The MT Radials are a true 26" diameter, this is what I am going with but they are a little spendy. Check this thread out: https://ls1tech.com/forums/wheels-tires/413655-where-get-skinnies.html

Thanks for the help guys! I didnt know M/T made a small radial for the front....I see hoosier has one too...but damn, $152-$190!!!! Yeah they are pricey code4. Too much for me right now. I have had the front sportsmans in the past and may go with the 8-ply because they are going on my thirdgen.....I liked them and for what I need they may be better suited then a little vw tire....looks like it belongs on a bicycle..LOL

Camaro396...are you on nastyz28.com? Its the second gen site...nice 72!
