Default Mixing tire brands

Ordered a pair of tires from tire rack last night, and when I was placing the order a popup came up that said it was bad to mix brands of tires.
I ordered a pair of BFG KDWs,those go on the back, and I will be using, on the front, the stock Goodyears
So is this going to be ok? IMO it's just BS to get you to buy 2 extra tires, but I wanted to check it out, and see what the experts think

im not sure it bad i was runnin the stock tires in the front and nitto 555r in the back . .it ran fine. . the nittos held up pretty good in the canyons too just need to pump up the tire pressure. . . but im going to either changing the front to the bfg kd's or the nitto 555 not sure yet coming down to price. .

I don't think that running different tire brands in the configuration that you are planning will cause any problems. I think that they are referring to running different brands on the same axel, such as a nitto on the right rear and a BFG on the left rear. A lot of tires of different brands can be slightly taller or shorter, even if they are labeled to have the same tire size. So, just so you keep the same brand on both the rear (or front) wheels, it should be OK.

It "can" mess up the balance of the car.

Are you racing it professionally?

If not, I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably better to have all four the same, but, if your fronts don't need replacing, I wouldn't replace them.

I know its not an F-body, but im running the stock F1s on the front of my L(295/45-18), and NT555Rs (305/45-18) in the back.

On our WS.6, were running the NT555s in 275/40-17 in the front, and 285/40-17 in the back.
