17x10??? will it work?

17x10??? will it work? Can I run 17x10's all the way around, or is that too wide for the front??? .....I just noticed a notch missing out of one of my tires, so I'm going to buy new wheels/tires for my 98 T/A. No one around here stocks BF Goodrich tires though.......so I will be ordering them off the net. I will be running 17x10 wheels, whats a good tire size for those? ...If you guys might know because all I'm going off of is what they recommend 255/40x17. I want a little bit of meat on them, a lot of people have a ton of wheel and no tire. So any suggestions or comments are much appreciated, thanks guys!

I would still stick with a 275/40/17 or 285/40/17. If your going to go w/a 17x10 wheel go w/those sizes. A WS6 wheel is 17x9.5 and they are wrapped in 275/40/17. here check out the specs on the 255's as opposed to the 275's or 285's http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...um=84YR7F1GSD3 its like 1" to1.5" more of rubber on the ground. Also there is alot of sidewall looks good
