Default 17x10??? will it work?

Can I run 17x10's all the way around, or is that too wide for the front??? .....I just noticed a notch missing out of one of my tires, so I'm going to buy new wheels/tires for my 98 T/A. No one around here stocks BF Goodrich tires though.......so I will be ordering them off the net. I will be running 17x10 wheels, whats a good tire size for those? ...If you guys might know because all I'm going off of is what they recommend 255/40x17. I want a little bit of meat on them, a lot of people have a ton of wheel and no tire. So any suggestions or comments are much appreciated, thanks guys!
I think I'm going with the KDW-2's, heard they're great tires.

Yea, I dont just want a flat tire and all wheel. It looks kinda ricer to me when theres no sidewall.

I would still stick with a 275/40/17 or 285/40/17. If your going to go w/a 17x10 wheel go w/those sizes. A WS6 wheel is 17x9.5 and they are wrapped in 275/40/17. here check out the specs on the 255's as opposed to the 275's or 285's http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...um=84YR7F1GSD3 its like 1" to1.5" more of rubber on the ground. Also there is alot of sidewall looks good

just check out the backspacing to make sure it will first. Dont need to buy a wheel that sticks in or out to far
