Wheel Spacers??

Help With 17'' Wheels!! I want to put 17" black tt2's on my ss and i was reading on SLP, and they say you need some spacers or suttin so the tires dont rub the fenders. Is this true??
Also can i fit a 11'' tire in the back without it sticking out of the fender. Cause if it sticks out, its gunna knick up the fender

I'm running 11's on the back of my TA, but don't know what backspacing (bought used). I've not had any problem with rubbing. I've got 285/40 Kumho's and they match up about even with the fender.
