What is the best way to keep chrome wheels lookin nice...im getting ready to have my first set?

Second, Are chrome wheels easier to maintain than polished. If so, why is that??

Mothers makes a great chrome polish...apply every couple months and in between just rinse down and wipe with water and micro fiber

Yes chrome is easier to maintain than polished. Polished wheels require polishing every once in a while to stay looking good, and depending on the style of wheel this can become a PITA

Make sure you wash your chrome wheels every week or two, use a paint brush to get around the lugs so they dont start to pit from not getting washed. Thats pretty much it.

You can get chrome type polishes but be careful not to get anything abrasive or for polished wheels. With chrome wheels, you are just putting a shine on the surface not re-surfacing, sort of like top coat wax.

i use soap and water and a couple soft bristle brushes.. super soft brushes. clean em every week.

ive had my wheels for abotu a year and a half and they look as brand new as the day i got em.

chrome is suprisingly very resilient.

Never use any kind of soap other than car wash soap . . . The other soaps will strip your wax off . . .

I've had polished wheels for the last 12 years on different vehicles. I just got 18" chrome C6's and I love them;boy are they easy to keep clean. In my opinion polished wheels are awesome on "show only" cars. If it's gonna be on the street, chrome is definitely the way to go if you want them to always look new and be easy to clean. Just wash'em with the same soap and water that you wash your car with.

The pitting has nothing to do with you washing it and kepping it clean, it has to do with the prep work that was done before they were dipped. You also do have to wax them. Thats an old myth as well, but if it makes you feel better about them be my quest.

No, if you don't wash chrome wheels around the lug holes and/or let them sit outside and let dogs **** on them and dont get it off. They will pit and corrode I dont care what prep work was done. If you don't believe me try it.
