What other options are there...
1) Are there any other 15" rims that can fit without modification and hold a set of slicks? Will Centerlines fit? If so, what kind?
2) Are there any calipers you can put on a stock LS1 rotor and get Prostars to fit?
3) I've heard that LT1 brakes will work without grinding. Are they smaller rotors, or do you just swap calipers? In what way(s) is this a downgrade in performance? Any other drawbacks?
Thanks in advance!
Purchase LT1 brakes, convert over, you still have to do some slight modifcations and run spacers to run economy weld wheels. By the time your done, you'll spend close to what it costs to purchase our wheels which we make for your car.
If your on a wall mart budget, choose the weld economy wheels. Don't consider weld high-ended wheels (which for what its worth...many are more expensive then our wheels) or our products. You get what you pay for.
In response to your own answer, the size of the wheel isn't the limiting factor of if a wheel fits, the caliper overhang is the large problem on your car, this has little to do with the diameter of the wheel. A 16 inch wheel has less options regarding tire sizes in addition will not have the traction capabilities of a 15 inch wheel as well as higher rotational losses due to where a large portion of the mass is located.
Good luck in your search.
Steve
However, I'd prefer to have some plane-jane steel rims instead of stock T/A 16x8 rims. Where can I get a dirt-cheap, plane-jane steel rim that will fit my car? I'm talking about something that looks like a hubcap or a spare tire belongs on it.
