Default Blackbird Wheels

What exactly are they?

Painted TT2's? And the center cap? They look a bit different from what I see on American Racing's site.

It looks to me like they painted the 5 spokes with a silver or metallic gunmetal color? Other than that it's just a TT2 right? Or is it another Torque Thrust version? I'd like to know the paint color and the wheel type so I can make my own

Come on someone has to know!

Yeah they aren't Cragars.

They used two wheels for the most part. The painted TT2s, and the S200.

Both were made by American Racing.

If you are wondering what's up with the different center cap, you're probably looking at the S200s.

They have a fatter spoke, and the different center cap.

http://www.firebirdgallery.com/carlblacklot1.htm

Look at the white TA in that gallery. The wheels are the S200. I couldn't post the pic, for whatever reason.

Yep, just get a paint shop to paint them charcoal metallic in the center. Im pretty sure that's what the color is. As for my wheels, they are the TT II's classics, it's flat gray rather than the metallic look.

Those Blackbird wheels are an example of what finish you would get if you were to put the "hyper" paint over a polished rim as opposed to one that was painted black.

Here's a pic of what the Hyperblack paint looks like when it's still in the bottle:

Remember way back in the day when they had those toys called an "Etch-A-Sketch?" This paint in raw form looks almost identical to that silvery stuff that was in those Etch-A-Sketch's. You can see in the pic what happens when you shake the bottle and get the paint stirred up. It's really cool to watch the millions of crystals swirl around when it's shaken. But to answer your question on how to get that finish this is the stuff you use.

You can get it here: http://www.motostorm.com/gpage.html2.html

Like I said the finish on the Blackbird wheels is using this paint WITHOUT having a black basecoat on the wheel first. Hope that helps.
Excellent info

So you're saying they used this Hyperblack stuff on the polished TT2's? And if you paint them black first they end up looking like black chrome? Hmm which one would look better...?

Maybe if I called GMMG they would give out the same info you gave me? Where did you learn this anyway?
