How do you 'break in' the Nitto 555R's?

yeah they need a heat cycle...i just dont' know how your supposed to do that

Some places perform the "heat cycle" or break-in for you.

i bought mine from discount direct....so i doubt they were heat cycled

any idea what they do?

I was told to also put 300 or so miles on the tires before I race them.

I bought my nitto's from discount tire. They do heat cycle them, but is a extra fee and they send them out to get done. So if you get them and didn't pay and wait for them to come back, then they haven't done it. was like a 2 week turnaround. I put my nitto's on, went to the track 2 hours later and they hooked great, my times were no different after 20+ times at the track, so I wouldn't think it matters much.

when i bought street ets for my mustang, i did my own heat cycle

step 1- rev to like 4 grand
step 2- dump clutch
step 3-hold brake so car stays still
step 4-wait untill stickers burn off (usually instantly) and tires to start smoking.

Heat cycle complete (i guess)

then pull up a couple feet and launch with thembad boys
