Bubbles in my sidewall
Bubbles in my sidewall So I'm on the highway midmorning heading into work after a dental cleaning, it's about quarter past 10, and it's entirely empty. The devil in me rears it's red head and I drop a few gears and hammer down. A moment later I'm breaking 120 on my way to 130. Then, suddenly, my front end is vibrating badly. I get off the gas immediately. I ease into the brakes and steadily slow down. 65mph and it's still vibrating. 30mph and still vibrating. I pull over to the breakdown lane and stop. Get out and inspect my front end. In a couple minutes I find a number of these on the sidewall of my passenger side front tire...
8 total, most about that size, a couple smaller. The odd part though, I figure I'll just limp to the next exit, which wasn't quite a mile away, and go from there. I get going again, and no vibration. I get up to highway speed, and still no vibration. So I finish the drive into work. I took the backroads home tonight though, and will continue to avoid the highway until I get new tires put on.
The ironic part is, I'm definitely due new tires. These have about 16,000 hard miles on them, but that tire was in the best shape of all three. Two are down to the wear indicators and one is actually treadless over the outside quarter section of the tire.

I've seen a tire do the same thing,except the bubble was the size of a softball!!You could touch it and actually feel the air trapped underneath it.I would replace that tire ASAP...
